I’m fairly new in my relationship with Christ and I had been struggling with prayer. What is it? Do the conversations in my head while I driving to work count? How come all I feel like I’m doing sometimes is asking for things or complaining? Do you have to officially kneel and fold your hands? How do I teach my 2 year old to pray because the standard God is Good, God is great prayer has already become so routine I wonder why we do it. Then came May- which our church uses as prayer month. They gave us this great little book with scripture different people in our church selected and wrote a synopsis of what the scripture meant to them. At the beginning of the book it shares a anagram (I think that’s what they’re called?) for how to pray.

P- praise
R- repent
A- ask
Y- yield

Turns out I’d been missing the repent part. This has really helped me have a deeper connection with God and I uses it tonight with my 2 year old and he actually stopped and listened and at the end said “yeah, I love u Jesus and u to mom.” All I can say is glory be to God! Amen.
