Do you value yourself?
Before you can add value to anyone else you have to find your own intrinsic self worth.
The #1 things a good consultant must have is confidence (not arrogance) in their ability to add value.
Confidence does not mean knowing all the answers to every question. This is about ADDING VALUE!
If you feel you aren’t adding value that is ok, you can start by asking yourself the question: “What could I do to add value?”
If you don’t know, ask the person you are working with or for. Confident consultants aren’t afraid to ask questions. People will appreciate the fact you asked and have their best interest at heart.
So what is self worth? And how do we increase it?
Self worth is: Understanding the power of your attitude toward yourself. How you perceive yourself, how you talk about yourself, and how you represent yourself eventually becomes the reality for you.
Self-worth is what enables us to believe that we are capable of doing our best with our talents, of contributing well in society, and that we deserve to lead a fulfilling life.
I have good days and bad days- on my good days I am able to see and acknowledge the skills, talents and abilities I bring to the table. On my bad days, I am filled with doubts. So on a good day I create an “At My Best” list. It is a OneNote page that lists out all the things I am when I am at my best. Creative, Helpful, Kind, Caring, Smart, Patient… etc. Then on those bad days I reference this list and it usually helps improve my self worth.
